Russian Bourbon-Honey Layered Cream Cake by Two Cups Flour

Russian Honey Cake (or "Medovik") is a very popular layered cake in Russia. It consists of layers of sponge cake and cream filling with a mixed nut topping. Honey is used in both the sponge and icing layers (although some recipes only incorporate honey into the icing). Layered cakes take some time to create but are meant to impress with their distinct structure.
