Our hive management program allows you to enjoy having honeybee hives on your property while we do the work to maintain them.

If life is keeping you too busy to maintain healthy hives or you're interested in beekeeping but aren't ready to start on your own, consider Noblebee Apiary's Beehive Management Program. We are a local honeybee apiary servicing the Winston Salem and Greensboro NC areas of the state. You'll enjoy the benefits of bees while supporting the bee population.

Our commitment is to maintain healthy hives with bi-weekly checks in spring, summer and fall as well as full winter season prep. Your hives will be protected against varroa mites and population balancing, queen rearing, splitting and swarm prevention services are included at no extra charge.  You'll enjoy honey free honey all year long.

All equipment, feeding and honey extraction services are included. Must live within the service area.

Minimum of two hives per property. No hidden fees.

Hive Placement

Your property should provide an area of approximately 5' by 10' per 2 hives. Our hive management technician should be able to access your property safely with pets secured during inspections and extractions. Please consider an easily accessible area so you can enjoy your hives.

Service Area


Noblebee is currently offering the hive management program within an approximately 30 minute radius from Kernersville, NC. This includes Greensboro and Winston Salem.

Rooftop Beehives


We offer hive management to businesses in the service area which have rooftop access. Urban beekeeping initiatives not only benefit the local plants but also creates a sense of community and a connection with nature. Businesses that participate in our hive management program will also be eligible for a discount on wholesale or private label honey making this a great opportunity for restaurants, bars, garden centers, coffee shops and plant stores.

FAQ

ARE HONEYBEES DANGEROUS?

No, honeybees only sting when provoked, startled or protecting the hive. To avoid getting stung please do not disrupt the hives. Keep pets and children away from the hives.

HOW MANY MONTHS DO I HAVE TO COMMIT TO?

You can cancel your enroll in the program at any time and there is no minimum commitment amount. To discontinue the honeybee management program please email us at [email protected] or contact your hive technician directly. 

HOW DO I COLLECT MY HONEY?

We provide free honey extraction at no additional charge. You'll receive Fool's Gold honey throughout the year. *Please limit of 1 case of 5.75oz (12) or 9.9oz (6) jars per hive, per year. Our minimum 2 hives would allow you to select up to 24 units of 5.75oz jars, 12 units of 9.9oz jars or one case of each per year.

CAN I KEEP THE HIVES IF I CANCEL THE PROGRAM?

Upon cancellation the honeybees, hives and any other equipment will be taken back. We do offer the opportunity to purchase the hives if you are ready to continue beekeeping on your own. After program hive purchase is $400 per hive.

HOW DO I ADD MORE HIVES MY PROPERTY?

You can request additional hives for your property at anytime however new hives will be delivered in the spring. Select "additional hive" above and add to cart in the quantity of hives you'd like to add. We will then reach out to you to confirm a set up date.

CAN I LEARN ABOUT BEEKEEPING THROUGH THIS PROGRAM?

Yes! Your hive technician can provide educational insight about your hives, the inspection process, the extraction process and beekeeping in general. 

HOW CAN I SUPPORT MY BEES?

There's nothing additional you need to do. We take care of everything! However, if you'd like to create a pollinator friendly garden we can recommend local plants that will support all pollinators including your new bees.

WHAT ARE MY OBLIGATIONS WHEN ENROLLING IN THE PROGRAM?

We require honey extraction, extra bees and brood from the hives. Extra bees will often be used to boost up weaker or struggling hives. We also ask that you don't sell the honey you receive.
